....We love to Travel and we love to Cook...
The idea for Spices To Go began after a trip to the US Virgin Islands in 1998. We chartered a 38-foot sailboat with friends and family and spent two weeks Island hopping. We all love to cook; so with us, went an assortment of our favorite seasonings and specialty spices. Among the group, we had a variety of tiny glass jars, plastic seasoning containers, plastic Ziploc bags, and plastic bags held tight by twist ties; you get the picture. All of the seasonings made it intact, except one, and that was Indian Curry Powder. We were still finding curry when we packed up to come home.
After that vacation, the idea to develop a compact, portable Spice Carrier began to take form.
- We knew we wanted a Carrier that could go anywhere, on any vacation or camping trip.
- We wanted it to be compact, storable, and easy to use.
- We wanted to be able to take Olive Oil, White Wine Vinegar or Worcestershire sauce without worrying about leaks.
- We wanted containers that were as indestructible as we could find.
- Finally, we wanted the ability to pick the seasoning we wanted, to customize our spices to the recipes we enjoy most.
What we came up with is a Spice Carrier with an exterior constructed of 1000 Denier CORDURA® nylon, rugged, durable and cleans easily. Combine that Carrier with 1 and 2 ounce Nalgene® bottles that are leak proof, and crush resistant, and you have the perfect traveling Spice Carrier.
